Week 2 preview - Bay at Utica

The first road game will have the Ospreys travelling to Utica for a contest against the Spartans. Coach Brian Fullem had a 6-10 2014 record and has wasted no time in doing an extensive makeover. Utica grabbed an amazing total of nine players from the first 52 taken in the 2015 T.F.L. draft. Prior to the draft, through some clever trading, the team was also able to add two very strong offensive linemen, adding Kevin Zeitler and D.J. Fluker.

Once the draft began the first Utica pick was defensive stalwart Kahlil Mack. Then in round two another fine outside linebacker was added in Anthony Barr, then with their last pick in the round MLB Rolando McLain joined the Spartans. The team is now strong and deep on defense and they will present a stern challenge to offenses.

The offensive line is almost totally new.  As mentioned Zeitler and Fluker came in trades and two more linemen were drafted in round two.  Center Corey Linsley and Guard Brandon Linder will join those two to give the team a strong anchor on offense.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers also received a nice new target in the draft when Utica used the 19th pick in round one to grab the very good young receiver Sammy Watkins. The team also has dangerous weapons in C.J. Spiller and De'Anthony Thomas.  With all these pieces Utica looks primed for a very successful season.
